Bill Kasdorf is VP and principal consultant of Apex Content Solutions. Rick Pascocello spent 25 years marketing books, most recently for Penguin Random House where he was Vice President, Executive Director of Marketing. He oversaw thousands of marketing campaigns for New York Times bestsellers—including those of premier authors like Patricia Cornwell, Khaled Hosseini, James McBride and Nora Roberts—and created innovative cause-related-marketing campaigns, like Read Pink, to support breast cancer research. Since 2015, he has provided independent marketing support to authors, corporations and not-for-profit organizations. Porter Anderson ( @Porter_Anderson ) BA, MA, MFA, is a journalist, speaker, and consultant specializing in book publishing. Formerly with CNN, the Village Voice, the Dallas Times Herald, and other media, he is Editor-in-Chief of Publishing Perspectives, founded by the German Book Office New York as the magazine for the international publishing industry.

With Jane Friedman, he produces The Hot Sheet publishing-industry newsletter, providing expert analysis and interpretation in a private subscription bulletin format, expressly devised to give authors the news insights they need, free of agenda and bias. Anderson also writes the #MusicForWriters series on contemporary composers for Thought Catalog.

Jane Friedman has 20 years of experience in the publishing industry, with expertise in digital media strategy for authors and publishers. Along with Porter Anderson, she edits and publishes The Hot Sheet, the essential publishing industry newsletter for authors, and is the former publisher of Writer's Digest. She has been interviewed and featured by NPR, PBS, The Washington Post, the National Press Club and many other outlets.

In addition to being a columnist with Publishers Weekly and a professor with The Great Courses, Jane maintains an award-winning blog for writers at JaneFriedman.com. She's delivered keynotes on the digital era of authorship at the San Francisco Writers Conference, The Muse & The Marketplace, and Willamette Writers Conference, among many others. She speaks regularly at industry events such as BookExpo America, and has served on panels with the National Endowment for the Arts and the Creative Work Fund.
